The conversion of ROSI code to Java and the implementation of a new hardware infrastructure.

NGSIS Architecture

This project will convert ROSI Code to Java and implement a new hardware infrastructure.

This is project will convert the entire ROSI code base of two million lines to a new JAVA platform. The conversion is being performed by an external vendor. The conversion of the code will allow the U of T to implement single sign-on, eliminate annual software vendor costs, and provide options for real-time integration with divisional and other enterprise systems (e.g. LME). The transfer of this new JAVA code to a renewed ROSI infrastructure in 2018 is expected to result in significant improvements in performance during high-traffic registration periods.

We will also replace the current mainframe to enable single-sign on, lower license costs and enable system interoperability.

Current Objectives

  • Convert the ROSI SAG Natural code base of 2 million lines to a new JAVA platform.

  • Replace the current Mainframe to enable single-sign on, lower license cost and enable system interoperability
